Smart Set | Lou Lou Magazine "IT GIRL" contest

Hello all,

Thank you very much for your support in my participation of the Smart Set Lou Lou Magazine "IT GIRL" Contest.

I saw the ad the contest in Lou Lou Magazine and thought it would be pretty cool. Since buying our house, I haven't really shopped much for myself. It's all been for the house and most recently, I haven't shopped at all. I also wear gym cloths to work every day now and thought it would be a great way to update my wardrobe. But, it is a National contest and didn't know if I'd get selected, but I defintely wanted to be and I have been. For those of you who know me, know that I practice the art of co-creating life. This is a GREAT example of that. I sent the picture in, had the faith that I would be selected and I was. If you're interested in how this works, ask me. I'll tell you a story about how I visualized winning a flat screen TV/DVD at my work Christmas party and the I did. That's a whole other post.

A lot of people have been asking what I had to do to be selected.

1. I had to send in a picture of myself. Pretty easy as I have photos from an amazing photographer; Tara McMullen and Melanie Webster. I selected one and sent it in.

2. When I got the confirmation email that I had been selected, to say that I was elated doesn't even cover it! But there were certain criteria that I had to follow.

A. I had to go to a selected Smart Set location and take photos of four looks; Denim, 9-5, Summer Chic and an Express my Smart Set Self look.

B. I had to send them in along with my video.

3. Here's what happens next.

The public vote will be held from April 24 at noon to May 21st at 11h59 PM. Only one vote per day/per user (so tell your friends and family members to come back every day to vote for you!)

Each Wednesday, starting on April 29, finalists with the least votes will be put AT RISK. But be careful! Anyone can go. It doesn’t mean that a finalist not AT RISK won't be eliminated. Elimination will take place as follows:

May 1, four finalists with the least amount of votes will be eliminated.

May 8, three finalists with the least amount of votes will be eliminated.

May 15 and 21, two finalists with the least amount of votes will be eliminated.

If I am still a finalist, for each elimination round, my picture will be updated, on the website to show one of the four Smart Set looks. The four remaining finalists will be declared the LOULOU and Smart Set “It Girls” after signing the proper legal releases.

Each winner will receive a $3,500 Smart Set gift card PLUS our pictures will be featured in LOULOU magazine.

A photoshoot and interview will take place in Montreal (transportation and accommodations included if needed). Details will be given to the 4 winners. Each Monday, a webisode will be posted online with our experts’ comments.

Oh yeah, by the way, I'm going to split the $3,500 wardrobe with one lucky person. I want you to nominate a woman in your life who deserves to have a shopping spree. It could be your mum, sister, sister-law, aunt, cousin, Personal Trainer, Favourite fitness instructor, daughter...a special woman who deserves to be pampered.
